What is 3rd Friday Rocks?

Navigating through the music world can be a crazy adventure. You can have many interesting interactions and relationships with musicians and fans while observing many different ways of exploring the creative medium of music. One thing that is sure is musicians are creative people who love to be around other creatives. Inspiration often happens in collaboration and community with like mindedness. And of course it’s fun to be around people who share your passions! The great thing about being in community with like minded people is that it is a very natural place to dialogue about life and spirituality. We’re all on a spiritual journey whether we believe in God or not and we all have a story to tell. Young musicians are just beginning to explore many things; music, creativity, relationships and even spirituality. It's becoming many young adults' dream to be a musician. But where can they go to explore this dream? 3rd Friday Rocks is the perfect place. It's a place where young musicians can have a musical outlet, learn and collaborate in an encouraging environment.

Throw in a little pop, a little jazz and blues, a little country, and a little gospel, and you begin to describe the eclectic mix that makes up Sarah's piano-driven and soulful sound. Accompanied by her husband/drummer/percussionist Jeff McLaughlin, they will take us on their musical journey and how they came to do what they do.

Sarah has released 3 albums including "So Many Reasons", "The Least of These", and currently (fall 2008) "Draw Me Back". She has also released a live concert DVD.

In between her recording and performing engagements, she is the voice of local and national commercial jingles ranging from Ford, Dodge, and Hyundai to New Balance, to the Pacers, among others. She has shared the stage and/or toured with Jon McLaughlin, Deana Carter, Bill & Gloria Gaither, Jennie Devoe, Montgomery Gentry, Tracy Lawrence, Avalon, and Watermark to name a few. If this isn’t convincing enough to go to this 3rd Friday Rocks I don’t know what is!
